Chinese Tofu Stir-Fry Recipe


This Chinese-style tofu stir-fry is a healthy, protein-rich dish featuring crispy tofu cubes tossed in a flavorful sauce with colorful vegetables. It's quick, vegan-friendly, and perfect with steamed rice or noodles.

Ingredients


- 200g Firm Tofu (cut into cubes)
- 1/2 cup Bell Peppers (red, yellow, green – chopped)
- 1/4 cup chopped Spring Onions
- 1 small Carrot (sliced thin)
- 2 tsp chopped Garlic
- 1 tsp chopped Ginger
- 2 tbsp Oil (for frying)

For the Sauce


- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce or Oyster Sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- 1 tsp Cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp Water
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- A pinch of Chili Flakes (optional)

How to Make Chinese Tofu Stir-Fry


  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Fry tofu cubes until golden on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, heat remaining oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for a few seconds.
  3. Add carrots and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Return tofu to the pan. Add the sauce mixture and toss everything well.
  5. Stir until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu and veggies. Add spring onions last.
  6. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
