Wonton Soup Recipe


Wonton Soup is a comforting Chinese dish made with delicate wontons filled with seasoned meat, served in a light and flavorful broth. It’s warm, satisfying, and easy to prepare.

Ingredients for Wontons


- 200g ground chicken or pork
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp ginger (grated)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 green onion (finely chopped)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 20–25 wonton wrappers

Ingredients for Soup


- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 garlic clove (smashed)
- A few slices of ginger
- Spring onions and chopped greens (for garnish)

How to Make Wonton Soup


  1. In a bowl, mix ground meat with soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onion, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place 1 tsp of filling in each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges, fold, and seal tightly.
  3. Bring chicken broth to a boil with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Drop the wontons into boiling water separately and cook until they float (3–4 minutes).
  5. Transfer cooked wontons into serving bowls and pour hot broth over them.
  6. Garnish with spring onions or greens and serve hot.
