Mysore Pak

Mysore Pak Recipe

Mysore Pak is a traditional South Indian sweet made with generous amounts of ghee, gram flour, and sugar. It's known for its rich flavor and melt-in-the-mouth texture, often served during festivals and special occasions.

Ingredients

• 1 cup Besan (gram flour)
• 1 cup Ghee (clarified butter)
• 1 cup Sugar
• 1/2 cup Water

Making Process

  1. Sieve the besan and roast it lightly in a pan until aromatic (do not brown).
  2. In a separate pan, dissolve sugar in water and boil until it reaches one-string consistency.
  3. Slowly add roasted besan into the sugar syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. Gradually add melted ghee in batches, stirring until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Pour into a greased tray, level it, and cut into squares while warm. Let it cool and set completely.
